Begin your day with a scenic 25-minute transfer from Luang Prabang to our serene countryside camp, nestled just outside the city. Upon arrival, you'll cross the tranquil Nam Khan River by traditional boat, setting the tone for an immersive journey into the heart of rural Laos.

Your trek starts at the trailhead, winding through lush rice paddies and middle-canopy forest landscapes. The first stop is the charming Khmu village of Ban Houay Fai, where you’ll be greeted by curious children and warm smiles. Your guide will introduce you to the customs, daily life, and traditions of the Khmu people, offering a meaningful cultural exchange.

As you continue your hike, the trail leads you along scenic ridgelines, past limestone grottos, and over rocky slopes. The natural beauty of the region unfolds with every step, revealing a rich tapestry of flora and fauna. Pause to observe birds, butterflies, and native plants, and engage your guide with questions about the vibrant ecosystem surrounding you.

Midday, you’ll arrive at the Hmong village of Ban Tinpha, the namesake of this trail. Here, enjoy a locally prepared lunch while soaking in the peaceful mountain views. The Hmong community offers a glimpse into a distinct cultural heritage, and your guide will share stories and insights into their way of life.

After lunch, the trail meanders through more rice fields and quiet countryside. You’ll have opportunities to chat with villagers working in the fields or relaxing in their homes. These interactions provide a deeper understanding of rural life in Laos and the resilience of its people.

Your trek concludes in the riverside village of Ban Houay Yen, where a boat awaits to carry you down a picturesque stretch of the Nam Khan River. The journey includes a stop at the stunning Tad Sae Waterfall, a multi-tiered cascade surrounded by forest. Take time to relax, swim, or simply enjoy the refreshing ambiance of the falls after a rewarding day of exploration.

Finally, return to Luang Prabang by boat and vehicle, carrying with you unforgettable memories of nature, culture, and adventure.

Total trekking is about 12 km (7.5 mi) taking 4-5 hours through 300-900 m of deciduous forest and farmland.
