Discover the best of Chiang Mai’s Old City on an easy guided bike ride through ancient temples, historic monuments, and vibrant local markets. This flexible tour lets you choose between a peaceful morning ride or a cooler, atmospheric evening ride, each offering a different and equally beautiful way to explore the heart of the city. Start at the Discova Day Tour Shop, then cycle directly into the Old City toward Tha Phae Gate, once the main trading entrance to Chiang Mai. Continue to the historic square around the Three Kings Monument and the Wat Intakhin (City Navel Temple), a spiritually important site marking the symbolic center of the ancient kingdom.

The tour continues through peaceful temple grounds, stopping at several of Chiang Mai’s most significant religious sites. Visit the impressive Wat Chedi Luang, famous for its massive ruined chedi and ancient City Pillar. Depending on the morning or afternoon departure, the ride also passes one of the city's stunning temples: either Wat Chiang Man, the oldest temple in the city, or Wat Lok Molee, known for its stunning Lanna-style wooden viharn and towering brick stupa. Along the way, ride along the ancient moat and past sections of the original city walls, learning how this carefully planned square fortress once protected the capital of the Lanna Kingdom. 

In the evening, temples like Wat Lok Molee and Wat Chedi Luang are beautifully illuminated, creating a dramatic and atmospheric setting; during the morning tour, you may encounter monks beginning their daily rituals. A stop at a local market is included on all departures. Experience either a fresh morning market filled with produce or a night market buzzing with street food. Your guide will help you try a few simple snacks or fruits, giving a taste of local flavors. Covering around 12–14 km at a relaxed pace, this tour is suitable for most travelers, including families with older children. With insightful commentary, iconic landmarks, and rich temple visits, this is one of the most engaging ways to experience Chiang Mai’s history and culture before ending the tour at Discova Day Tour Shop.
